13th event of the 2009 NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing
Series came to a thrilling conclusion after three
landmark days of racing at the 30th annual Mopar Mile-High
NHRA Nationals. A rain delay prior to the final round
in the nitro classes didn’t dampen the excitement
at Bandimere Speedway in Denver. The Mopar faithful
were rewarded justly with an impressive Pro Stock
win by Mopar-sponsored driver Allen Johnson, while
Antron Brown (Top Fuel), Ron Capps (Funny Car), and
Eddie Krawiec (Pro Stock Motorcycle) also collected

of qualifying for the 30th Annual Mopar Mile-High
NHRA Nationals. Unfortunately, the fourth and final
qualifying session today proved to be Johnson’s
undoing, as Mike Edwards bested the Mopar-powered
driver’s track record run on Saturday to bump
A.J. to the No. 2 spot for tomorrow’s eliminationsTeam
Mopar driver Allen Johnson drove to his seventh career
victory and second of 2009, beating Jason Line in
the final round of eliminations today at the 30th
Annual Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals at Bandimere
Speedway. Johnson scored his second win in three years

talking top drivers in Pro Stock, Allen Johnson’s
name has long been in the mix, but never has his name
come up so often in such conversations as it has this
year. A series of moves in the off-season designed
to strengthen every aspect of his program, from the
addition of co-crew chief Jeff Perley to Johnson himself
working to improve his driving, has generated a lot
of buzz around the Mopar driver and propelled him
to front-runner status alongside the powerhouse KB
Racing and Cagnazzi Racing teams. It’s a role
Johnson welcomes and believes is definitely warranted........

Following
an off-season full of moves to enhance his Mopar/J&J
Racing team, Allen Johnson opened the year with a
win at the annual Las Vegas Pro Stock Showdown at
The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Johnson bolstered
his program with the additions of Johnny Gray as a
racing teammate and Jeff Perley as a tuner to his
already talented cast. He ran a 6.70 in the final
round to defeat reigning NHRA Full Throttle Pro Stock
